About Us

Mike StumpHans Foreign Car Service was established in 1975 by Hans and Brigitta Hoeh. The shop was located in a small warehouse off of Douglas Avenue near the Altamonte Mall. Hans was a factory-trained technician from West Germany and was working as the Service Manager for Contemporary Cars (Orlandos Dealer for Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Audi). Shortly after opening the shop, Hans was joined by one of his technicians from the dealership, Mike Stump. Mike is still an employee of the shop.

In the beginning, Mike and Hans worked on the vehicles without lifts and many other tools and accessories we now take for granted. In 1984, Hans moved the shop to its current location on Bunnell Road in Altamonte Springs. The shop prospered in its new location with the addition of some more technicians and plenty of work on Audi 5000s and Porsche 944s.

In 1999 I purchased the business from Hans. My name is Ron Rivard and I originally met Hans when I started working for Contemporary Cars in 1986. Hans was very instrumental in my training at the dealership. I had been in the automotive business selling parts for various retail & wholesale operations; however, Hans introduced me to the intricacies of German sports cars.

During my time at the dealership, I held the positions of Service Dispatcher, Service Advisor, Wholesale Parts Manager, and Vehicle Sales Consultant. While working at the dealership, I was also completing a B.S. Degree in Business Management at the University of Central Florida. When I first started at UCF I was an Engineering Student with many classes in Physics and Chemistry which I have found very helpful in understanding the electronics in a modern performance car.
